Mary Lou, a Voice with a Calling
At a very early age, Mary Lou knew that she was destined to be an entertainer, a producer of joy and happiness to all who listened to her and watched her at work. At the age of four, she was singing in the church choir; music became a source of strength for her as did her faith. In her teenage years, she mastered Polynesian dancing and danced with a group of her peers at many public events. It was the age of Aquarius; Mary Lou joined others singing and playing acoustic guitars. She sang in popular coffee houses, where she met future stars of the music world and television.
When she reached the legal age to sing in nightclubs, she brought her singing ability to headline the entertainment at the Tale of the Whale restaurant in Newport Beach, California. She was well received and continued to sing nightly in restaurants and hotel lounges in Los Angeles, Orange County, Palm Springs, and San Diego for the next 18 years. During that time, Mary Lou began performing national commercials, with voiceovers and songs. She was the lead singer in national commercial jingles, including a jingle for the national Best Western hotel chain. Her voice was being heard across America.
Her education became a core desire as she entered the business world and earned a Bachelor of Business degree. Then her faith prompted her to attend Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena. She continued her love of singing by performing at company events, churches, retirement communities, and hospitals.
For 15 years, she was filmed with speaking parts in national and local television commercials. Her clients included AAMCO, Hyundai, Hewlett Packard, Samsung, Marie Calendar, Lively Mobile Plus, Cox Cable, Sycuan Casino and many others.
Believing it was important to give back to her community, she worked with federal health agencies and local medical associations to film public service announcements (PSAs). She also performed leading roles in print, industrial films and infomercials.
On May 30, 2008, Mary Lou was ordained. She mostly ministers through her music. Her calling has always been before her in both secular and sacred music. She has 20 years of experience in leading worship and praise for Christian retreats. She delights in creating original music that brings peace and joy to her listeners.
Today, Mary Lou and her husband own a home studio with some of the best upscale equipment available, including world class microphones, preamps, and audio interfaces. The DAW is Pro Tools 12. The studio is established to provide the best in female artist voiceover capability.
The early calling on her life has proved to be true. Mary Lou is an entertainer who produces joy and happiness.
